Istanbul, a 3000 years old city, has been the capital of three empires. Its unique natural beauty, rich history, civilization and culture make it attractive. Climate
There is a subtropical Mediterranean kind of climate in the city. The "velvet" season lasts from September through December. Winters are mild. It’s very rare to see the snow, but, if it happens it doesn’t stay for too long.
Electricity
In Istanbul the power supply is 220 Volts. AC plugs are standart continental European type.
Currency and Exchange
The currency unit is Turkish Lira. Foreign currencies can be exchanged in all banks, at the airport and at the front cashier of your hotel. Internationally recognized credit cards are widely accepted at shops.

Transportation
For transportation from Istanbul Atatürk Airport, light railway, taxis or car rental can be used. The color of taxis are yellow and they have taximeters.
