Ahmad Moualla, "Trilogie de Mutanabi", 440 x 200 cm, 2008, Acrylic on canvas
Galery Information
In order to promote different cultural expressions
in art and to introduce them to a larger audience
internationally, Contemporary Istanbul is focusing
on art from the countries of the neighboring
regions. In this context, it is making greater room
for artists from the Middle East and the Balkans,
while initiating this year a new country-based
section for the appreciation of art-lovers.
In its first year, the "New Horizons" program
will host Syria. Syrian artists are attracting
attention and acclaim by blending together
traditional elements specific to their country
with contemporary forms of expression.
